Chisapani Nagarkot trek

Chisapani Nagarkot trek is a low altitude hiking with gorgeous Himalaya views in Shangri-La Valley located northeast of Kathmandu valley, start from the Sundarijal (1390 m) after 40-minute car trip. It is 7 days plan with sightseeing ends at Namo Buddha (1750 m).

Chisapani Nagarkot trek offers to visit four popular Himalayan viewpoints, including Chisopani (2200 m), Nagarkot Tower (2175 m), Dhulikhel (1450 m) and Namo Buddha (1750 m). This trip saves time easily accessed from the capital town Kathmandu. It passes through the Shivapuri National Park, Mulpani village with a slope green hill, gravel road and the pine, orchid, rhododendron and birch forest. One can enjoy the panoramic Himalayan view with a river valley and terraced field. An overnight stay will be at the Mountain lodge or guest house. There are trails of uphill, downhill and gravel road.

Chisapani Nagarkot trek is interesting and possible four seasons in the year. You will enjoy the tranquility and fresh air. The trail is safe. Explore the birds, plants, local people, house pattern, dress, cultures, tradition, and festival with a photograph. People live in Hill region with farming and animal husbandry. You will pass through the Nagarkot and Dhulikhel and reach the end in Namo Buddha, famous Buddhist holy place.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport

Day 03: Kathmandu (1350 m) to Chisapani (2200 m) – 5/6 hours

Day 04: Chisopani to Nagarkot (1950 m) – 7/8 hours

Day 05: Nagarkot to Dhulikhel (1450 m) – 6/7 hours

Day 06: Dhulikhel to Namobuddha (1750 m) – 4/5 hours

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport
When flight land at Tribhuvan International Airport, take 6 km car ride with our guide, takes 25 minutes to reach a hotel. Check in hotel and guide will brief the programs. Stay overnight at the hotel with breakfast in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Full day sight seeing in Kathmandu Valley
Professional Tour Guide comes at 9 AM with a car to the hotel door. Riding a car guide explains information of Nepal. The four UNESCO world heritage sites include Swayambhunath (1st century) is popular for the Buddhist Stupa, an activity of the Assamese monkey and the panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley and the Himalaya. Kathmandu Durbar Square (12th to 18th century) is popular for royal palace squares, museum, Kasthamandap, the Living Goddess Kumari, Freak Street, wood carving and temple architecture. Pashupatinath (5th century) is famous for the cremation ghat, Pashupatinath Temple, the shrines with Shiva Lingam and Yoni, the Hindu holy men (Sadhus) and an activity of the Assamese monkey and deer in the sub-tropical forest. Boudhanath (5th century) is famous for the second largest Stupa in the world, Tibetan refugee settlement, painting school, huge prayer wheel, prayer flag, and a monastery with monk.

Day 03: Kathmandu (1350 m) to Chisapani (2200 m) – 5/6 hours
Take a 40 minutes car ride with 15k m paved road to Sundarijal (1390 m) that is a tiny town with hydropower and water source of the capital city located northeast of Kathmandu. Start your trek with climbing through the Shivapuri National park’s check post, picnic spot and water dam. Cross the dam then climb uphill through the Tamang village Mulkharka (1895 m) a view of the green valley. Climb through a rhododendron, oak and pine forest to the Borlang Bhanjyang (pass, 2440m) with the Mountain Views. Descend to the Chisopani (cold water) with the panorama views of the Annapurna to Everest. Here are few lodges with a shop. Stay overnight here.

Day 04: Chisopani to Nagarkot (1950 m) – 7/8 hours
Take hot breakfast with the sunrise view over the Himalaya in the morning. Walk with gravel road through the Shivapuri National Park until Jhule trail descends via an army camp to the Chauki Bhanjyang. Take a lunch then continue to the Kattike Bhanjyang with mountain view. Climb 40 minutes uphill with gravel road to the Nagarkot. Stay overnight at a hotel in Nagarkot.

Day 05: Nagarkot to Dhulikhel (1450 m) – 6/7 hours
Take hot breakfast with the sunrise view over the Mountain in the morning. Walk few paved roads and mountain rough trail passing the uphill, downhill, village, terraced field, forest to the Dhulikhel. Stay overnight at a hotel in Dhulikhel.

Day 06: Dhulikhel to Namobuddha (1750 m) – 4/5 hours
Walk 15 minutes to the east trail through the Kathmandu University and turn right. Climb through the stairway to the Kali Temple with a nice view of the Himalaya such as Langtang, Gaurishankar. Descend to Kavre Bhanjyang on the Highway with teashop and handicraft shop. Cross the road and hike uphill through a pine forest to reach the Namo Buddha. Explore the Mountain View, a monastery with monk. Enjoy your time with an ancient myth about the prince and starving tigress. Drive the 40 km road to Kathmandu by a car. Stay overnight at the hotel with breakfast in Kathmandu.

Day 07: Departure to airport
