Dhampus Sarangkot trek

Dhampus Sarangkot trek is 3 days journey begins at Phedi (1080 m) after 30-minute car trip from Pokhara. The hiking ends north bank of Phewa Lake in Pokhara. Trekking permit and TIMS card are not required. The hiking passes along the village trail. The stunning views of Mt. Fishtail (6993 m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091 m), Mt. Lamjung Himal and Mt. Manaslu (8163 m) can be viewed at Dhampus, Sarangkot, and Naudanda. Trekkers can meet the Gurung, Thakali and Brahmin people.  

Dhampus Sarangkot trek, located north of Pokhara Valley.  Phedi to Dhampus village can reach in 2:30 hours. Dhampus to Naudanda can reach in 3-hours. There are gorgeous views of Pokhara Valley and Annapurna Range. Naudanda to Sarangkot can approach in 3 hours with a gravel road. Sarangkot offers the great sunrise view over the Himalayan peaks. Sarankot to the bank of Phewa Lake can reach in 2:30 hours. Take a 10-minute taxi or walk 30 minutes to reach Lakeside, Pokhara. 

Dhampus Sarangkot trek is an opportunity to discover the village lifestyle, dress, food habit, ornament and diverse landscapes. Visitors can visit a school, health post and interact with locals. The maximum height 1600 m will not a problem for tourists. It is a little part of Annapurna Region. Both teahouse and camping trips are possible. Rhododendron blossoms in spring. Day 01: Pokhara to Dhampus (1650 m) – 3/4 hours

Day 02: Dhampus to Sarangkot (1592 m) – 6/7 hours

Day 03: Sarangkot to Pokhara (830 m) – 2:30/3 hours

Day 01: Pokhara to Dhampus (1650 m) – 3/4 hours
Take hot breakfast in Pokhara then ride 30 minutes car to reach Phedi (1080 m). Walk uphill through a little forest, terraced fields, and staircases to approach Dhampus in 2:30 hours. Dhampus is a Gurung village with hotels, school, and stunning Mountain views. Stay overnight there with full board meal.

Day 02: Dhampus to Sarangkot (1592 m) – 6/7 hours
Descend through a trail of staircases, terraced fields, and village. Cross a stream and walk uphill to the Naudanda in 3 hours. The views of Annapurna range and Pokhara valley are gorgeous there. Walk through a gravel road to Sarangkot in 3 hours . Sarangkot is an old fort and name of the village. The views of Dhaulagiri in the west to Manaslu in the east, Paragliding, Pokhara Valley, Phewa Lake, Seti River, World Peace Pagoda are wonderful from the tower. Stay overnight there with the full board of meal.

Day 03: Sarangkot to Pokhara (830 m) – 2:30/3 hours
Climb steeply downhill through a village trail to Phewa Lake in 2:10 hours. The views of terraced fields, Phewa Lake, Pokhara, and green hills are remarkable. Take a taxi to Pokhara or walk 40 minutes to reach the hotel. Stay overnight there with breakfast.
