Dhaulagiri Round Trek

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport
When the flight arrives at Tribhuvan International Airport, take the 6 km car ride with our guide, takes 25 minutes to reach the hotel. Check in hotel and guide will brief the programs. Stay overnight at hotel with breakfast in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley
Professional Tour Guide comes at 9 AM with a car to the hotel door. Ride the car, guide explains about Nepal. The four UNESCO world heritage sites include Swayambhunath (1st century) is popular for the Buddhist Stupa, activity of the Assamese monkey and the panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley and the Himalaya. Kathmandu Durbar Square (12th to 18th century) is popular for royal palace squares, museum, Kasthamandap, the Living Goddess Kumari, Freak Street, wood carving and architecture of the temple. Pashupatinath (5th century) is famous for the cremation ghat, Pashupatinath Temple, the shrines with Shiva Lingam and Yoni, the Hindu holy men (Sadhus) and an activity of the Assamese monkey and deer in the sub-tropical forest. Boudhanath (5th century) is famous for the second largest Stupa in the world, Tibetan refugee settlement, painting school, huge prayer wheel, prayer flag and monastery with the monk and lama.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Beni (830 m) – 10 hours
It is about 285 km (177miles) distance from the Kathmandu to Beni. On the way, the view of snow capped mountains, including Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. You will meet the Trishuli, Marsyangdi, Seti and Kali Gandaki River Valley with the highway towns and Pokhara. Private bus takes at least 10 hours to reach the Beni that is the headquarters of Myagdi district with the hotel, lodge and shop. Mixed community people live here. Stay overnight at a camp in Beni.

Day 04: Beni to Babiyachaur (980 m) – 5/6 hours
The walk along the bank of the Myagdi Khola, cross a bridge. Pass several small villages and reach Tatopani (hot spring) close to a town. Cross couple of suspension bridges to reach the Simalchaur (945 m) then walk continues along the left bank of Myagdi Khola to reach the Babiyachaur. Stay overnight at camp in Babiyachaur.

Day 05: Babiyachaur to Dharapani (1560 m) – 5/6 hours
Walk through a wide and graveled road to the Darbang (1070 m). The hikes continue to a village and cross a bridge, pass a village; rice terraces with narrow path then across a bridge. Climb uphill gradually through a forest of rhododendron, oak and pine to the ridge with a village. Continue with a straight trail to reach the Dharapani that is a large village with a beautiful house pattern including thatched and tin roof. Stay overnight at camp in the Dharapani.

Day 06: Dharapani to Muri (1850 m) – 5/6 hours
Climb downhill the walk continues through the Sibang and Mattim village and cross a suspension bridge over a river. Climb gradually uphill through the village, forest and terrace field to reach the ridge. Walks continue with the view of Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Gurja Himal to reach the Muri village with the Magar people with mountain views. Stay overnight at camp in the Muri

Day 07: Muri to Boghara (2080 m) – 5/6 hours
Climb downhill and cross a rocky stream, then walk continues to the Dhora Khola via terraced field. Cross a river and walk uphill to reach the Ghorban Dhara. The view of Ghustung South (6465 m) can observe from the pass. Continue walk to the Naura village, then climb few steep uphill. Walk through the Myagdi Khola valley with ascends and descends with a zigzagging stone step trail. Descend through a forest and terrace fields to reach the Boghara village. Stay overnight at camp in the Boghara.

Day 08: Boghara to Dobang (2550 m) – 5/6 hours
Today we have difficult trail. Walk continues, and then descends through the terraced field to reach a ridge. Walk through a forest to reach the Jyardan village. Climb uphill through the windy and rocky valley then descend. Climb uphill at the end to reach the Lipshe with a single hut. Hike continues through a forest to reach the Lapche Kharka (Goth) and climb uphill to reach the Dobang. Stay overnight here at a camp.

Day 09: Dobang to Italian Base Camp (3660 m) – 6/7 hours
Walk continues and cross a wooden bridge, then climbs uphill through a forest of pine, rhododendron and bamboo to an alpine with surrounding mountain. Cross the Myagdi Khola and walk continues passing a stream to reach the Choriban Khola. Walk through a terminal moraine of the Chhonbarban Glacier with the views of Tukuche peak (6837 m) in the distance and massif north face of Dhaulagiri in the right. Walk continues to the Italian Base camp with a view of Dhaulagiri II, III, and V to the west. Stay overnight at a camp in Italian Base Camp.

Day 10: Rest day at Italian Base Camp (3660 m)
Make your rest day pleasant with a practice of climbing high sleep low. Acclimatize your body for the comfortable trip. Stay overnight at a camp here.

Day 11: Italian Base Camp to Glacier Camp (4940 m) – 4/5 hours
Hiking with a difficult path is on the glacier. Cross the first glacier with rope if necessary, then continue to the main glacier area. Enjoy the superb view of snow-capped mountain peaks surrounding here. Stay overnight at a camp there.

Day 12: Glacier Camp to Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4750 m) – 4/5 hours
Walk through the rough mountain trail over the glacier with cold weather. Walk continues to reach the Dhaulagiri Base Camp. The north face of Dhaulagiri is superb here. Stay overnight at a camp in Dhaulagiri Base Camp with the better management.

Day 13: Dhaulagiri Base Camp to Hidden Valley (5010 m) – 4/5 hours
Climb uphill through the glacier trail by using a rope if necessary. Walk continues to a steep moraine and the French Pass (5240 m). It is a glaciated pass with the view of Hidden Valley. Descend to the Hidden Valley with the blue sheep and snow leopard recorded here. This is also the yak pasture. The night temperature will be – 18 Celsius in October. Stay overnight at a camp in the Hidden Valley.

Day 14: Hidden Valley to Yak Kharka (3960 m) – 6/7 hours
Walk continues to the Dhampus pass (5155 m) then the trail steeply descends to the Yak Kharka (Yak pasture). People of the Mustang keep the summer settlement for yak. The views of Tilicho Peak, Kali Gandaki Valley, Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Tukuche Peak are gorgeous here.

Day 15: Yak Kharka to Marpha (2670 m) – 4/5 hours
Climb down hill steeply through the steep desert like trail at the beginning. When you arrive at lower part, Christmas tree can see there. The view of Marpha village is beautiful. Descends continue to reach the Marpha village with an apple garden, monastery and the Thakali people.

Day 16: Marpha to Jomsom (2710 m)
Walk continues through the bank of Kali Gandaki. This is windy valley and the famous trail of Annapurna round. Cross few bridges to reach the Jomsom with the hotel, airport, army post and a police post. This is the district headquarters of Mustang district. Reconfirm your flight ticket to Pokhara. Stay overnight at a camp in Jomsom.

Day 17: Jomsom to Pokhara (827 m) – 20 minutes
Take an early morning flight to Pokhara with the views of Kali Gandaki River valley, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Ghorepani, Sarangkot, Phewa Lake with the World Peace Stupa and Pokhara valley. Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

Day 18: Pokhara to Kathmandu 1350m - 7 hours by bus
Kathmandu is located 204 km to the east. Tourist bus takes 7 hours to approach there. During the bus drive between the Pokhara and Kathmandu the scenery are interesting such as snow-capped mountain, Marsyangdi River Valley, cable car station, Trishuli River Valley highway town, terraced field, village, domestic animal and forest-clad hill. The Gunadi is 45 km next where bus stop for 30 minutes. The Gunadi is Malekhu is 87 km next where bus stop for 30 minutes. The Kathmandu is 72 km next where bus stops. Take a taxi to the hotel with a 1 km road. Stay overnight at the hotel with breakfast in Kathmandu.

Day 19: Departure to Tribhuvan International Airport
Airport is 6 km far, which takes 25 minutes car drive. Get airport 3 hours before your flight. Hope you enjoyed trekking trip in Nepal and welcome back again with the new program. We wish you safe and happy flight
