Everest Trekking

Everest trekking is a tremendous journey to reach the base camp of world highest mountains on foot. It is second most popular region. The route goes along the Dudh Kosi Valley and alpine settlement. It offers close-up Mt. Everest (8848 m.) views while walking across the UNESCO heritage site ‘Sagarmatha National Park’ and Sherpa town, Namche Bazaar.  The journey starts either Jiri (1905 m) or Lukla (2860 m). Everest Base Camp Trek, Short Everest Base Camp Trek, Everest high pass trek, Gokyo Lake trekking and Everest view Trek  are the well-liked itinerary.

Everest trekking is an adventure with the yak and yeti trail to reach the foothills of the highest mountains. Everest region is most popular after Annapurna in Nepal. Sir George Everest in 1865 and Baburam Acharya in 1956 declared its name in Nepali (Sagarmatha) and English (Mount Everest). The pioneering Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay made a trail in 1953s. Afterward, became popular in an international media. The trip starts after Kathmandu-Lukla flight (30 minutes) or Kathmandu-Jiri bus tour (8 hours). It lasts one week to three weeks.

Everest hiking is interesting with the footsteps of Hillary and Tenzing Sherpa. Sherpa is humorous people who live at the higher region. Rai, Thamis, and Jirel people also live at the lower region. They speak Tibeto-Burmese language and celebrate mountain festivals. such as Dumje, Mani Rimdu, and Losar. Flora and fauna are remarkable in alpine forests, such as pine, hemlock, juniper, birch, rhododendron, goral, snow leopard, Himalayan tahr and musk deer. Summer temperature will be cool and wet. Winter will be cold and dry with snowfall usually. Annually forty thousand tourists visit to Everest region. 

Lhotse (8516 m), Nuptse (7879 m), Cho Oyu (8201 m), Pumori (7145 m), Ama Dablam (6856 m), Thamserku (6608 m), Kusum Kanguru (6367 m) and Mera peak (6654 m) are fascinating. Cho La (5420 m) and Renjola (5360 m) are high passes. The highest airport, Syangboche (3720 m), Khumjung Monastery (with a skull of yeti), Chukung Ri (5350 m), Everest Base Camp (5364 m), Kalapathar (5545 m) and the highest glacier, Khumbu are outstanding.
