Everest Trekking

Everest trekking is an adventure journey in the base camp of the world highest summits. A strenuous grade hiking passes through the Dudh Kosi River Valley with the Sherpa, Rai, Thami, and Jirel village. The close-up view of Mt. Everest (8848m), natural heritage site of UNESCO ‘Sagarmatha National Park’ and the awesome Sherpa town, Namche Bazaar are outstanding. The tour begins after 30 minutes (Kathmandu-Lukla flight) or 8 hours (Kathmandu-Jiri bus). The trip can start at Phaplu after 25 minutes flight (Kathmandu-Phaplu). Everest trekking ranges the second most popular destination in Nepal. Annually 40000 trekkers visit to explore yak, yeti, snow leopard and highest mountains, including top of the world Mt. Everest. Sir George Everest in 1865 and Historian Baburam Acharya in 1956 named Sagarmatha in Nepali and Mount Everest in English. Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay climbed the highest summit in 1953, afterward; Everest region became popular in world news. Everest trips are available one week, two weeks and three weeks. September to November and March to May is the best season. National park fee and TIMS card required before the journey. The most popular mountains, including Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7879m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Pumori (7145m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Thamserku (6608m), Kusum Kanguru (6367m), Island Peak (6187m) and Mera peak (6654m) are fascinating. Cho La (5420m) and Renjola (5360m) is adventure pass. The highest airport, Syangboche Airport (3720m), Khumjung Monastery (with a skull of yeti), Chukung Ri (5350m), Everest Base Camp (5364m), Kalapathar (5545 m) and the highest glacier, Khumbu Glacier are outstanding.

Everest hiking offers each footstep of Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. This is not only an opportunity to see the highest mountains of the world, but also the Sherpa community, their lifestyle, hospitality, and the Buddhist practice. Mountain people speak Tibeto-Burmese language and celebrate the mountain festivals, such as Dumje, Mani Rimdu, and Losar. Flora and fauna are noticeable in alpine forests, such as pine, hemlock, juniper, birch, rhododendron, goral, snow leopard, Himalayan tahr and musk deer. Summer temperature remains cool and wet.
