Everest Trekking

Everest trekking also called Everest hiking, and Everest walking to reach viewpoints and base camps of the world highest mountains. The journeys start at Lukla, Phaplu, and Jiri after a flight or bus trip. Everest region offers five different treks, including a Jiri to Everest base camp, Everest base camp trek, Everest high pass trek, Gokyo Lake trekkingand Everest View Trek. Walking paths designed along the river valleys, Sherpa, Rai, Thami, and Jirel villages, UNESCO world heritage site ‘Sagarmatha National Park’, high pass, glacier, and lake. Annually, at least 20 climbing groups also use the hiking route. Both camping and teahouse treks with a normal and luxuries lodges are available along the trail.

Everest trekking is the second most popular trip that signs up by 40000 trekkers every year. A traveler may explore a yak, Yeti, snow leopard, musk deer, Himalayan tahr, and the highest summits, including Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7879m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Pumori (7145m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Thamserku (6608m), Kusum Kanguru (6367m), Island Peak (6187m) and Mera peak (6654m). Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay first climbed Mt. Everest in 1953, afterward, the area became popular on international media. One week, two weeks and three-week trips are possible there. National Park fee, TIMS card, travel insurance, and a guide required for the journey. The popular viewpoints are, Kalapathar (5545 m), Chukung Ri (5350m) and Gokyo Ri (5350 m). The highest glacier, Khumbu Glacier and 3 high-passes, Kongma La (5535 m), Cho La (5420m), and Renjo La (5360m) are fascinating.

Everest hiking is not only famous for the highest summits, but also the Sherpa community, their lifestyle, hospitality, and the Buddhist culture. Locals speak Tibeto-Burmese language who celebrates the mountain festivals, including Dumji and Mani Rimdu. The highest airport, Syangboche Airport (3720m), Khumjung Monastery (with the skull of Yeti) and the alpine Sherpa villages, Pangboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep are above 4000 meters. A flora and fauna, including pine, hemlock, juniper, birch, rhododendron, goral, and snow leopard are in the National Park. September to May is the best season to travel. Summer remains cool and wet and winter remains dry and snowfall. The possible cancellation of Lukla flight due to the weather and a risk of altitude sickness should ever remember.
