Paragliding in Nepal

Paragliding in Nepal is one of the major attractions for internal and external tourist to glimpse the mountains. It offers aerial views of Pokhara Valley, Phewa Lake, and the snow-capped mountains, including Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Annapurna (8091 m), and Manaslu (8163 m). It is an adventure sport with a parachute jump into the sky and flies down to the ground. Suitable air pressure is essential for the trip. Sarangkot (1450 m) located 8 km north of Pokhara, believed the five best Paragliding spot in the world.                            

Paragliding in Nepal offers the best view of Mt. Fishtail (6993 m) known as the Nepalese Mattoon Horn. Participants will enjoy Seti River, Pokhara city, hamlets, and forest-clad hills. The Himalayan Griffon, eagle, and kites come to tackle with a pilot. There are 190 experienced paragliding pilots, including few foreigners. Each pilot flies one tourist at a time with a paraglider harness. The tourists ride 25 minutes jeep to reach Sarangkot at 9 o’clock in the morning. The Bandipur, Andhi Khola-Sirkot, Tansen, and Ilam are potential places for the sport.

Tandem Flying

Tandem flying offers two riders flying with a parachute wearing separate harnesses that attached to the wing. The experienced pilot flies one person each time for 15 minutes up to 2 hours. The passenger seat is ahead of the pilot seat, with a comfortable harness in the Paraglide that fits into a rucksack easily.

Tandem flying begins after the air pressure checking then jump from a higher place. Visitor flies nearby the snow-capped mountain. Later, Paraglide lands on a flat ground nearby Phewa Lake. Jeep from Lakeside takes 25 minutes to the flying point. Wear warm clothes, light shoes and keep a water bottle, camera, binoculars, and an energy bar in a little bag that fits at the waist.

Tandem flying can explore the mountains north of Pokhara Valley (830 m) with a diverse landscape. A vulture and Lammergeyer can tackle with the tourist. Three different Tandem Flying tours are below. 

Cloud Buster

Ride 25 minutes jeep from Pokhara to the starting point, Sarangkot (1450 m). The trip flies high above the Himalaya with interesting views and lands on a ground nearby the Phewa Lake. The trip will be 20-30 minutes.


The flight crosses different valley with the high Himalayas, then lands on the flat ground nearby the Phewa Lake. The trip will be one hour.

Acrobatic Flying

Acrobatic Flying is an adventure trip, which operates by an experienced pilot. The trip includes Helicopter, SAT, Back-fly, Tumble, and Wingover. This is a tiny game in the air. The time will be 20-30 minutes.
