Sankhu Nagarkot hiking is an interesting day trip 20 km northeast of Kathmandu Valley. The hiking begins in Sankhu village at 1500 m after the 40-minute car drive. It is 3 hours walking to approach the stunning village Nagarkot 1920 m. The Sankhu village is believed 5000 years old, since the age of truth according to holy book Swasthani. Sankhu Nagarkot hiking passes on a gravel road, forest, and village trail with the views of terraced fields, Himalaya, green hill, and valley. The trail forwards gradually uphill for 500 meters. Interact with locals working in their meadows and tea shops. Kattike Danda is a viewpoint, 40 minutes before the Nagarkot there a trail splits to Chisopani. Enjoy the magnificent views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorjelakpa, Gaurishankar, and Numbur there. There is a village tea shop. The walk continues on a forest trail towards Nagarkot Village.
