Namo Buddha (1750 m) is 45 km southeast of Kathmandu in the Kavrepalanchok district, described as the sacred place of greetings to Lord Buddha. Kakani (1982 m) is 29 km northwest of Kathmandu in Nuwakot district, reached in 1:15 hours drive from Kathmandu. The gorgeous hill station suggests a picnic, refresh, tranquillity, and east-to-west mountain views of Annapurna I (8091 m), Himalchuli (7893 m), Manaslu (8163 m), Dorje Lakpa, Chobba Bhamre (5970 m), Langtang (7246 m) and Gaurishanker (7134 m). A mountain biking tour is exciting from Kathmandu to Kakani. There is a museum and memorial park of Langtang Region in memory of the Thai Airlines crash (31 July 1992).
Pokhari Thumko (2005 m) is 18 km southeast of Kathmandu Airport in Lalitpur district. The hill station suggests impressive views of Kathmandu Valley, sunrise, sunset, wooded hills and the Himalayas Annapurna to Everest. Lankuri Bhanjyang is the next scenic hill station nearby. Kathmandu to Pokhari Thumko takes an hour's drive from Gwarko, Lubhu, and Lamatar roads in Lalitpur.
