Ganesh Himal base camp trek is a popular trip called Ruby valley trek with views of green hills, high passes, river valleys, snow-capped mountains, Mt. Ganesh I (7422 m), Ganesh II (7118 m), Ganesh III (7043 m), Ganesh IV (7104 m). Remote Tamang village settlements of dispersed, cluster and beehive blocks are outstanding in the Ruby Valley. This journey starts in Sole Bazaar with 5 hours bus trip from Kathmandu ends at Khahare Bazaar. The trip takes 16 days with camping and a teahouse trek. Tamang people are an ethnic group with a fascinating culture, lifestyle, and profession who believe in shamanism.
Ganesh Himal base camp trek is a tremendous journey to explore rural villages, animal husbandry, education, a farming system in the north-central Himalayan region. This non-tourist is famous for fresh air, peaceful environment, medicinal plant, snow leopard, black bear, pheasant. Tamang people knit a tumpline and basket by the Himalayan bamboo. Agriculture, animal husbandry, mountaineering are their profession.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport
We meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to the hotel 6 km driving with our guide in 25 minutes. Check-in hotel and guide will brief the programs. Stay overnight at the hotel with breakfast in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Sole Bazaar (650 m) - 6/7 hours
We drive to Trisuli Bazaar (540 m) and Sole Bazaar. During the bus trip, we enjoy the views of the forest, stream, village and mountains. After the bus, we hike to a campsite with Ganesh Himal and a terraced field view. Stay overnight camp in Sole Bazaar.
Day 03: Sole Bazaar to Satdobate (1250 m) - 5/6 hours
We hike and continue to cross a bridge over Salankhu Khola. We hike uphill to Chapodanda (870 m) with terraced fields. The uphill walk through a village approached a stupa. We take the left trail, walking uphill Satdobate (junction of seven trails). Stay overnight camp in Satdobate.
Day 04: Satdobate to Balche (1930 m) - 5/6 hours
We hike a west trail to a village with a stream, lifestyle and bamboo knitting. The trek continues the watermill, uphill to Balche Hilltown with prayer flags. The sunset views will be beautiful. Stay overnight camp in Balche.
Day 05: Balche to Gonga (2900 m) - 6/7 hours
We walk uphill through terraced fields, a forest of rhododendrons and khasru. The pastureland with grazing domestic cattle is interesting. The hiking continues to Gonga, a small village with typical houses. Stay overnight camp in Gonga.
Day 06: Gonga to Rupchet Kharka (3600 m) - 5/6 hours
We walk northwest uphill through the forest of fir and rhododendron towards Mimatashi Kharka. The hike continues uphill through a forest to the ridge and Rupchet Kharka. There is a large flat place with Himalayan views, Langtang (7246 m) and Gosainkunda. Stay overnight camp in Rupchet Kharka.
Day 07: Rupchet Kharka to Mangchet Kharka (3540 m) via Singla (4200 m) - 6/7 hours
We go an uphill walk to Singla Pass with the views of Manaslu (8163 m), Langtang and Ganesh Himal (7406 m). We walk uphill and downhill trails through a forest of rhododendrons and pine towards Mangchet Kharka. Kharka translates cattle settlement with pasture. We can spot mountain pheasants there. Stay overnight camp in Mangchet Kharka.
Day 08: Mangchet Kharka to Pangsang Bhanjyang (3830 m) - 6/7 hours
The hike passes a forest with uphill and downhill trails. We enjoy the mountain views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and Annapurna. We walk to Pangsang Bhanjyang with a view of Langtang, Paldor Peak, and the Chinese mountain. Stay overnight camp in Pangsang Bhanjyang.
Day 09: Pangsang Bhanjyang to Chalise (2000 m) - 6/7 hours
We walk downhill and uphill paths through a forest of bamboo, pine and rhododendrons observing waterfalls to Tipling. The large Tamang village is interesting with Chorten, a church and terraced fields. Tamang people produce potatoes, barley, buckwheat, corn, and vegetables on their farms. We walk downhill and cross a bridge over Gorkhen Khola. We hike uphill towards Chalise, the Gurung village. Stay overnight camp in Chalise.
Day 10: Chalise to Hindung (2420 m) - 5/6 hours
We walk downhill and cross a bridge over Menchet Khola. We hike uphill towards Hinddung. The large Tamang village is interesting with terraced fields, a Mani wall and prayer flags. People knit baskets and tumplines using Himalayan bamboo. Hinddung is the last village before the Ganesh Himal base camp. Stay overnight camp in Hindung.
Day 11: Hindung to Rajgang Kharka (2700 m) - 5/6 hours
We walk uphill through a forest of rhododendrons, medicinal plants, and wildlife. The hiking continues towards Rajgang Kharka, the pastureland of domestic cattle. We enjoy the peaceful pastureland. Stay overnight camp in Rajgang Kharka.
Day 12: Rajgang Kharka to Ganesh Himal base camp (4125 m) - 5/6 hours
We walk through a narrow valley of forest and desert walking uphill and flat paths to Ganesh Himal base camp. The views of Ganesh Himal (7406 m), Paldor Peak and other mountains are impressive. The black (2150 m) and white ponds are sacred there. Stay overnight camp in the Ganesh Himal base camp.
Day 13: Ganesh Himal Base Camp to Chalise (2000 m) - 7/8 hours
We hike downhill through a stream, Tamang village and forest paths to Chalise. Stay overnight camp in Chalise.
Day 14: Chalise to Jharlang (1700 m) - 7/8 hours
We hike gradually uphill to a ridge with views of Ganesh Himal, a village, a waterfall and terraced fields. We descend through terraced fields, village towards Borang village. We walk downhill and uphill paths to approach Jharlang village as the Tamang village. Stay overnight camp in Jharlang.
Day 15: Jharlang to Darkha (1250 m) - 6/7 hours
We walk on the old landslide, uphill paths enjoying the views of Ganesh Himal and Manaslu. The hiking continues forest with a waterfall, terraced fields, and a village towards Darkha. We enjoy the Netrawati River valley with Brahmin people's settlements. Stay overnight camp in Darkha.
Day 16: Darkha to Khahare Bazaar (685 m) - 6/7 hours
We walk downhill towards Phedi. The hiking goes on the Aankhu Khola riverbank with the view of a waterfall, village, stream, and forest towards Khahare Bazaar. Khahare Bazaar is located on the Ankhukhola riverbank with a shop, school, college, and surrounding green hills. Stay overnight camp in Khahare Bazaar.
Day 17: Khahare Bazaar to Kathmandu (1350 m) - 8 hours by local bus
We take an early morning breakfast and ride a local bus to Kathmandu. During the bus trip, we enjoy the view of a village, forest, mountain and highway towns. Stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 18: Departure to Tribhuban International Airport
We transfer to the airport 3 hours before the flight departure, which takes 20 minutes to drive.
